The Usual Suspects

"The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was to convince the world he didn't exist." - Verbal Kint (Kevin Spacey)

This film is absolutely brilliant. Not only is it origonal, but it also has great camera shots, good screenplay, and acting performances that even the very best (which they are) should be proud of.

Kevin Spacey plays Verbal Kint, a cripple who is being interviewed by the police to provide information about a fire on a liner killing every body aboard it. The film starts with a line-up of five known criminals, who don't take anything the police say seriously, and decide to get together afterwards.
Basically the story is about a legendary crime lord, who everybody fears, as he has no problem with killing anybody who gets in his way, or who could give information as to his identity.
It is a modern film Noir, with all the aspects expected from this genre except for a Femme Fatale and it is in colour.

I can't really write a lot about the film without giving away the plot, and I don't feel that I have the right to spoil it for anybody, so all I will say now is that you would have to be a fool to miss this.

WARNING - If you want to watch the film, do NOT read on.

The brilliant twist at the end left me feeling like an idiot, but in the best possible way! Afterwards you realise that Verbal has given so many clues as to the amount of truth in his story, and this just shows our prejudices against cripples, because nobody can believe that cripples can do any harm, and basically they are invisible because people do not like to feel that they are staring at somebody who is different.
Anyway, I'll stop waffling now, just go and watch the film to see for yourselves what I'm raving about!
